Nervous?
Meu medo me aflige e me deixa nostálgica.

Dear host family,My name is Letícia, I'm sixteen and I live in São Paulo city, the biggest city in Brazil.I think that I have a strong personality, I'm funny, happy, courageous, friendly and I'm an easy going person. On the other hand, the black point about me is that I'm a little bit difficult when it comes to food.On an average week day I spend most of my time at school, then twice a week I attend an english class, and I end my day going back home. There I do my homework, I surf on the internet, read some blogs, chat with my friends. I'm also fond of movies and Tv shows such as The walking dead, Pretty little liars and Harry Potter. But first of all I like to spend time with my family. On the weekends I like to hang out with my friends, to go to the cinema, wander in the park, go to the shopping mall and party with them.During my vacations and holidays me and my parents use to visit my family that lives in another state named Minas Gerais. To go by car we spend 6 hours, but that is ok because family is important. Moreover, in the summer we like to go to the beach too, and i love it.I'm living in a flat with my mother Shirlei, my father Olinto and my sister Layane that now is studying in Texas. We used to have a dog called Nala, that was almost part of the family.I love animals! If I could I would have some, but animals need space so it's not good to have them in an apartment.I also love amusement parks and extreme things like rollercoasters. My school in Brazil is great and I like studying but here we can not choose the subjects we have to attend thus one might have to study subjects that one does not like such as physics in my case.Like I said before my city is the biggest in Brazil and I love here, it's so beautiful and around where I live has lots of places to go like shopping malls, a park, restaurants and even my school is near my house. I can go everywhere by foot, it's easy and healthy.I'm not sure yet what I want to become exactly after high school but what I know is that I want to have a happy family and a sucessful career.
If I would like to study abroad and especialy in the USA, it's mainly to discover a new culture, new people, experience a differente way of living and thinking, different landscapes and of course to become fluent in English. I believe that life is a stream of experiences and this opportunity will be an amazing way for me to grow up as a person.
I chose to apply for this exchange program and then for the USA because my sister has been there for a year and a half and I've already visited her there, and I liked very much. The country has a good school system and infrastructures, besides it the american culture has always attracted me.Hope you enjoyed reading this letter and that we can talk to each other soon!

Beijos,
